Castlegar Garden Tour
After a successful performance at the Joe Hill Coffeehouse, we're hard at work preparing pieces for the Castlegar Garden Tour on June 28. |
Working through challenging pieces
It's been rare for all four of us to meet this fall, so we've picked a number of challenging pieces to work through rather than prepare for performances. Some of the pieces include Krell's Mississippi Rag, Paul Morgan's arrangement of variations on Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Handel's Water Music Suite. |
Castlegar Garden Tour 2013
The weather held, and we had a great day playing at the Castlegar Garden Tour. |
Harmony Choir Concert
Thanks to the Harmony Choir for inviting us to their annual concert. We really enjoyed listening and watching the other groups. We had fun with our pieces which included the Habenera from Carmen, Irish Aire and Jig (Danny Boy & the Irish Washerwoman), Menuet and Bouree from the Royal Fireworks, and Blue Skies. |
Almost a Quartet Again
We had a sort of hiatus in February since Andrea and Carla were busy playing with the Rossland Light Opera Players. This Thursday we'll be back to a quartet and preparing for the upcoming Harmony Choir spring concert. We've been asked to play for 15 minutes, so we're trying out a number of old and new pieces to see what we want to play. We want it to be a mix of different genres, such as classical and jazz. There's also a bit of negotiating since we all have our favorites. |
